Due to the warm invitation of Dr. Richard Mouw, the President of Fuller Theological Seminary, Rev. Cao Shengjie , the President of CCC, led a delegation to pay a visit to the seminary from March 6-13, 2007, and participated in the Chinese Theological Education Forum there. Over 100 representatives from 12 world-famous theological seminaries in North America and Europe attended the Forum.
Rev. Cao made a speech entitled “Chinese Theological Education”. She first reviewed the characteristics of the old Chinese theological education and their origins. Then she expounded on the development of Chinese theological education after the founding of the People's Republic of China , and gave an in-depth analysis of the current situation. Her speech was met with much interest and a warm response.
The forum has promoted contact and communication between Chinese and American theological education, and enhanced the exchanges of educators and pastors.
As the first Sino-US forum of this high level, it has drawn great attention and response from people both in China and the US , and even throughout the ecumenical church in the world.
