The 2007 Church Conference in Honolulu

MAY 30, 2007

Invited by the First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu (Hawaii, U.S.A), Rev. Cao Shengjie , President of CCC, and Rev. Bao Jiayuan, Associate General Secretary of CCC, paid a visit to the church and attended the "Honolulu 2007" church conference. Honolulu 2007 was the 19th annual conference hosted by the Hawaiian Islands Ministries.

The First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu has a good relationship with the Church in China . Its senior pastor, Dr. Rev. Dan Chen, has visited China twice and got a deep impression of the Chinese government's religious freedom policies and the Three-Self principle of the Church in China . Last year Rev. Mei Kangjun led a delegation to visit the Honolulu church and had friendly exchanges and sharing in Christ.

Rev. Cao was invited to make a speech at the Conference. The Honolulu conference is a major annual Christian event, drawing participants from all over the world. This year's event, with well over 4000 people attending, was a grand gathering of people of many cultures and races. There was diverse content, including symposiums, informative meetings, worship times and musical performances. During its visit, the delegation from the Church in China was warmly welcomed and received by the Hawaiian church.
