Bishop K. H. Ting , Vice Chairman of CPPCC, Honorary Chairperson of National Committee of Three-self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Churches in China, Honorary President of China Christian Council and Principal of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, Presbyter Ji Jianhong, Chairperson of National Committee of Three-self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Churches in China and Administrative Vice Principal of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, Rev. Gao Ying, Vice Principal of the Seminary and other members of the committee administrating the Seminary received the guests and had a discussion with them friendly.
On behalf of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary and entrusted by Bishop Ting, Presbyter Ji expressed his heartfelt thankfulness to the guests. He made a brief account of the history and recent situations of the Seminary, especially the smoothly going-on construction of the new campus, which has won the supports and concerns of the central and regional government.
Mr. Tung Chee Hwa, Vice Chairman of CPPCC, said it was very pleasant to have the opportunity to come to Nanjing to visit his old friend, Bishop Ting, and the well-known seminary. He also shared his feelings about the Bible Ministry Exhibition of the Church in China held in USA , which is a witness of the development of religions in our country, and the policy of freedom of religion has been carried out smoothly.
