CCC/TSPM Research Group Visits Five Seminaries
to Enquire into Theological Education and
Reconstruction of Theological Thinking

A research group assigned by CCC/TSPM visited theological seminaries and local CC/TSPMs in Jiangsu, Guangdong, Shaanxi, Liaoning and Beijing on May 8-12, and May 28-June 11, 2006.

Visiting the new campus

The group was mainly made up of members of the Commission on Theological Education, the members of the Promotion Group within the Ministry of Reconstruction of Theological Thinking, and colleagues in charge of provincial CC/TSPMs and seminaries. The leader of the group, Presbyter Ji Jianhong, Chairman of the national TSPM, was assisted by Reverends Sun Xipei and Lin Zhihua, both Vice-Presidents of CCC, and Rev. Gao Ying, Vice-Principal of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary.

The focus of this research was to explore how to improve theological education and further promote the reconstruction of theological thinking. Furthermore, conducting this research was an effort on behalf of CCC/TSPM to obtain deeper understanding of the current situation of the seminaries and of the implementation of the reconstruction of theological thinking. Valuable observations will be summarized and applied as a scientific basis to formulating new strategies and plans to suit the needs of the new era and the conditions of the Church in China.
