in Richmond and Metro Washington DC
Jun 1,2006 Presented by CCC/TSPM

After the successful completion of the Bible Ministry Exhibition of the Church in China which was held in Atlanta, the Chinese Christian Delegation visited Richmond, the capital city of Virginia, and Washington D. C..

In Richmond, the delegation was warmly received by Virginia Baptist Mission Board and the Virginia Baptist Historical Society. On May 28, the delegation was invited by 6 churches to preach, send greetings or present musical performances. The brothers and sisters in the churches are greatly joyful with our visits. An American woman made a special trip to Walnut Baptist Church to worship and to attend the lunch, for she wants to tell the delegation that her father, a pilot during the Second World War, was once shot down when undertaking a task. It was Chinese people who sent him back to the camp by the stretcher for 3 days and nights. Although her father passed away, she still felt the need to come all the way to express the gratitude and hope that the friendship between our two countries can last forever.

In D. C., the delegation visited the headquarters of Baptist World Alliance and met some old friends like Dr. and Mrs. Denton Lotz. The Senior Pastor of the Colombia Baptist Church visited China before, at the fellowship dinner with the church on the evening of May 31, he especially asked Rev. Cao Shengjie to share about the current situation of the churches in China. After the dinner, the Lisu choir talked about music with the church choir. The choir conductor said, ¡°Music is an international language; we praise the God together.¡±
