The Bible Ministry Exhibition of the Church in China opens to public from 10:00am to 10:00pm everyday after the Opening Ceremony on April 27.
Enriched introduction, defined pictures, various exhibits, artifacts with specific Chinese characteristic and interesting performances by Christian artists attract lots of visitors from Los Angeles and other parts of Southern California. Every visitor including American Chinese is moved by the love of Chinese brothers and sisters to the Holy Bible and the testimonies of churches in China.
Dr. Sterling Houston of BGEA said that Bible Ministry Exhibition is a good way for American churches and Christians to better know the growth of churches in China, the spread of the Gospel and Bible publication and distribution. The exhibition educated American people and Christians to know that there are new freedom to spread God's Word in China at present. He sent greetings and prayer to Chinese brothers and sisters in Christ.
Mr. David Thorn, General Secretary of UBS Asia Pacific pointed out that churches in China have scored great achievements in Bible publication and distribution, yet what is more exciting is that they can bring the exhibition to USA to share with American people and Christians. He said that American churches and American people have more misunderstanding, compared with churches in Hong Kong toward the church situation in China. The Bible Ministry Exhibition is helpful for American people to know the freedom of worship and the freedom of Bible publication and distribution. This Exhibition will enable them better know the ministries of CCC/TSPM.
Mr. David Mehlis, President of Cook Communication Intl., said that the exhibition offered first-hand information of church history and current development in China and he hoped that the exhibition can be displayed in 20 cities in America rather than 3 cities. The exhibition will enable Americans further know the churches and Bible Ministries in China. He suggested that those who have engaged in Bible smuggling go to China and see by themselves. In China, almost every church anywhere provide Bibles at the price of USD$2-3, He was impressed by what have been displayed on the exhibition ¡£ He expressed his admiration to what have been done by brothers and sisters in China.
The Bible Ministry Exhibition also attracts many common American people and Christians. There are many moving testimonies. For instance, a couple Earl and Alverna Messick, above 70 years old came all the way to visit the exhibition on their own expenses. They said, ¡®The exhibition is perfect, and the Bible Ministry in China is incredible. Thanks a lot!¡± On Sunday, April 30, a family with 3 generations from Seattle came to be volunteers for the Exhibition, registering the visitors and delivering publicizing materials. They said that they could feel the cultural difference between east and west and would like to celebrate the wonderful moment together with us. A Chinese brother working on his doctoral programme in Fuller Theological Seminary brings his mother of 94 years old in a wheelchair to see the exhibition. Although they are Roman Catholics, they carefully looked around every chamber and kept saying ¡°Amazing!¡± Another brother who had no car called us and asked how he could come to visit. He said that he would come to visit even if he had to change 3 buses.
On May 1 st , more than 2,000 people visited the exhibition.
Except Christian musicians and ethnic minority choir, CCC delegation also invited two Christian painters to paint on the spot and would donate all the offering to the Crystal Cathedral as a token of appreciation for Crystal Cathedral's strong support to this Bible Ministry Exhibition.
