Bishop John Neil of the Church of Ireland
visited the Headquarters of CCC/TSPM on March 17th, 2006
where he and his delegation were received by Rev. Cao Shengjie,
President of CCC, Rev. Deng Fucun, Vice President of TSPM
and Ms. Chen Meilin, Executive Associate General Secretary
of CCC. They also participated in a fellowship at Shanghai
Muen Church afterwards.

The Church of Ireland was established in the fifth century
[only fifteen generations after Christ]. Nowadays, there
are 12 dioceses, including one in Northern Ireland. Among
them, the diocese of Dublin, with its more than 50 parishes
located in the capital area of Ireland, is the most influential.
It has done a tremendous amount of work in pastoral ministry
as well as in the areas of social service and social justice.
As one of the members of Churches Together in Britain and
Ireland (CTBI), it promotes a friendly relationship with
the Church in China.

Bishop Neil, with his delegation, were the first visitors
in China from the Church of Ireland. During the visit, Rev.
Cao Shengjie gave them a brief introduction to the recent
development in Churches in China. The hosts and the guests
shared God's blessings and the unity in Christ in a warm
and friendly atmosphere.
