On October 27th, at the invitation of the CCC/TSPM, the Most Rev. Frank T.
Griswold and his colleagues from the Episcopal Church USA
paid a visit to the new headquarters of the CCC/TSPM.

On behalf of the CCC/TSPM, Rev. Cao received them and had
a friendly sharing session with the guests. Rev. Cao first
introduced the ministries of the CCC/TSPM and the plan of
the ¡°China Bible Ministry Exhibition¡± to be held in the
USA in spring 2006. She also expressed her thankfulness
to the Episcopal Church USA for their support in providing
the exhibition site in New York. The Most Rev. Frank T.
Griswold expressed his approval for the exhibition concept
of ¡°The Bible unites us¡± proposed by Bishop Ting. And taking
the example of Paul¡¯s opinion that women cannot preach,
he said that persons working in religious capacities should
have different theological concepts and expressions of faith
in different historical, cultural and social environments.
Among the participants of the meeting were Rev. Deng Fucun,
the Vice President of the TSPM, Rev. Su Deci, the Vice President
of the CCC and President of the East China Theological Seminary,
and Chen Meilin, the Executive Associate General Secretary
of the CCC. In a friendly atmosphere of mutual sharing,
all participants gave testimony of God¡¯s blessings and grace
for the churches in China and the USA.

During his visit, the Most Rev. Frank
T. Griswold attended the Morning Prayer with the staff members
of the CCC/TSPM and gave a speech, greeting everyone present.
Afterwards, he toured the headquarters and the Holy Trinity
Church.
A second part of the visit brought the group to Nanjing,
where they were received by Bishop Ting at the East Suburb
Hotel. The Most Rev. Frank T. Griswold delivered a speech
at Nanjing Union Theological Seminary and had a meeting
with Presbyter Ji Jianhong.
This was a return visit in response to a visit by a Chinese
Christian delegation led by Presbyter Ji Jianhong and Rev.
Cao Shengjie in 2003. This latest visit helped to further
strengthen the friendship between the churches of the two
countries.
