Developments of Chinese churches need a great variety of outstanding personnel. CCC/TSPM attach much importance to personnel cultivation. On the basis of establishing and improving the personnel training mechanism of churches in China, CCC/TSPM aim to foster a backbone team of versatile personnel who insist on the Three-Self Principles, love both the country and the churches and have certain theological accomplishments through a specific training mode within the churches.

Besides the establishment of 18 theological seminaries and Bible schools, lay training ministry has always been one of CCC/TSPM’s key emphases in their works. By the end of year 2003, CCC/TSPM had sent 33,255 volumes of books to the theological seminaries, training centers and training classes through the Training Department, which benefited more than 2,000 students. In year 2004, CCC/TSPM donated 12,919 volumes of books, which benefited over 1,000 students.

Taking English training as an example, CCC/TSPM held the first session of Oral English Training Class in Huangshan City from July 4th to August 14th, 2004, enrolling 45 students from 24 provincial CC/TSPM and 13 theological seminaries. 6 American teachers were invited to teach and received a satisfactory feedback. The whole cycle of this training program will be three years, during which students are expected to receive systematic training to meet the demand of friendly intercourse with overseas churches.
